Butterfly Moss grows long, upright stems with medium to large leaves that are deep green in colour and loosely spaced on each stem. Unlike other mosses, Butterfly Moss also grows moss roots that appear as brown spots along each stem.
As Butterfly Moss grows these roots, it is very capable of attaching to hardscape and even substrate. It is perfectly placed in the midground for a striking focal point due to its unique structure, or even in the foreground where it can creep along the substrate.
Butterfly Moss is relatively easy to care for, requiring low to medium lighting for best growth. Higher lighting will encourage more horizontal growth whereas low lighting will lead it to be more upright. CO2 is beneficial for Butterfly Moss but not required. Temperature should be kept below 28°
Fully grown/attached on steel mesh for at least 10 weeks
