Red Tiger Lotus – Nymphaea zenkeri

Bring bold colour and dramatic foliage to your planted aquarium with the Red Tiger Lotus (Nymphaea zenkeri). This striking aquatic plant produces broad red, burgundy and bronze leaves with distinctive darker mottling, creating a beautiful contrast against green aquarium plants.

Tiger Lotus is a relatively easy-to-grow aquarium plant and makes an excellent feature or focal plant for the midground to background. Under stronger lighting and with good nutrition, the leaves can develop particularly intense red colouration. As the plant matures, it may also send longer leaves toward the water's surface.

For a compact, bushier appearance, regularly trim any leaves that begin reaching for the surface. Tiger Lotus is a heavy root feeder, so a nutrient-rich substrate or quality root tabs are highly recommended.
